Q. What is the Career Ready Institute-Phase I? A. University of Central Oklahoma Students who are classified as freshmen or sophomores are encouraged to participate in this certificate seminar series presented by UCO Career Services. This program is designed to assist students in determining their career path and developing skills to help them succeed throughout their college career. This program leads into the Career Ready Institute - Phase II geared toward students preparing for the workforce.
Q. What if I already have a career path and am simply interested in the topics? Can I still attend? A. There is no limit to who can attend.
Q. When does it start, and how can I get involved? A. The series will begin in Fall 2007 and seminars will be repeated in Spring 2008 (although enrollment is preferred in the Fall).
Q. How and when can I register? A. Students may register for the Career Ready Institute in the UCO Career Services office during regular office hours and at each seminar offered throughout the year.
Q. Is there a fee to register? A. No.
Q. Do I have to register to attend any of the seminars? A. No. Registration is not required. The seminars are open to anyone who wants to attend regardless of college level or registration. However, in order to receive a certificate of completion and other benefits you must register.
Q. Will I be registered with Career Services when I register to participate in the Career Ready Institute? A. No. You will only be registered to participate in the Institute only. Registration with the office is separate.
Q. How much time do I have to complete the Institute? A. To earn a Career Ready Institute certificate, students must complete all requirements by the end of one academic year, but have an option to complete within one semester.

Q. What do I get when I complete the Institute? A. You will receive a certificate of completion you will be able to add to your resume. |
Q. What is the Career Ready Institute-Phase II? A. University of Central Oklahoma Students who are within four semesters of graduation or have completed CRI - Phase I are encouraged to participate in this certificate seminar series presented by UCO Career Services. It is designed to fine-tune students’ job-search competencies and to help prepare them as candidates for internships and full-time employment.
Q. What if I am not within four semester of graduation? Can I still attend? A. There is no limit to who can attend; however, if you have not completed Phase I, and are a freshman or sophomore, you will be encouraged to do so.
